Ludhiana, June 30
The Managing Society of Dayanand Medical College and Hospital today deferred the decision on enrolment of 15-20 new members on the managing society following opposition from the members. The general body meeting of the managing society was held with Mr Brij Mohan Lal Munjal in the chair and discussed the issue of taking new members on the managing society and enrolment of new members of the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha.
The members pointed out that new members were not needed, and the same could not be taken unless the constitution of the managing society was amended.
Some members objected to the legal notice on the issue and said that this should not have been sent.
The members authorised Mr Munjal to verify the facts about the nomination for the 11 representatives for the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Punjab, before taking them on the society.
Dr Daljit Singh, Principal, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Dr Gurpreet Singh Wander Chief Coordinator, Hero-DMC Heart Institute and Dr Raju Singh Cheena, Medical Superintendent, presented their assessment reports about the functioning of the hospital, heart institute and the problems of the employees of the hospital, respectively, on this occasion.
It was emphasised that the functioning of the heart institute should be improved further. The employees’ union representatives also held a meeting with Mr Munjal regarding to their demands.
