The Department of Local Government has
charge-sheeted seven officials of the Pathankot Improvement Trust, including a
former Administrator and IAS officer. The other officers include two former
executive officers and other junior officials, including draftsmen and the trust
engineer.

Employees of the Public Works Department
(Building and Roads) today organised a dharna and blocked the road in front of
the Mini-Secretariat alleging that engineers of its department had been arrested
by the state vigilance bureau as part of a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing the
image of certain senior ministers prior to the reconstitution of the state
Cabinet.

flight to Los Angeles from Amritsar
Jalandhar, July 2
Air travellers from Punjab will now
have direct connection to Los Angeles from Amritsar over Frankfurt by Air
India flights on every Friday. An Air India spokesperson said here today
with the availability of this option to the travellers with effect from
July one, now Los Angeles and other en route destinations-bound passengers
were not required to go Mumbai or Delhi to catch the flight. |
