A seminar on leadership and a handwriting competition were organised at Everest Public Senior Secondary School, Moti Nagar, here today. Dr H.K. Tewari, senior mycologist and former head of the Department Microbiology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Tewari advised students to set their goals and to work towards achieving these. He emphasised that the students should respect their teachers. Students should be fully dedicated towards their parents, who were equally responsible for the progress of their wards, he added. While elaborating on the qualities of a good teacher, he said a teacher should evaluate students by reading their face and understanding the status of their brains.
He stressed on the neatness of handwriting as it could impress the examiner. Dr Tewari also suggested the creation of a counselling committee to guide students of the institution towards a bright future. He advised students to work hard and maintain their standard of education.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rajinder Krishan Sharma, president, Association of the Punjab School Education Board Affiliated Schools Punjab (regd), advised students to be serious towards their studies and try to secure good divisions.
Mr Dheeraj Sharma, stage secretary, urged students to achieve distinctions in various fields.
