Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and east Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Punjab: Ludhiana 2, east Uttar Pradesh: Ballia 4, Basti and Rigoli 2 each and Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Kakrahi and Turtipar 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Mohana 2 and Kalpi and Moradabad 1 each and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 10, Didihat 5, Dehradun 4 and Joshimath 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of July 17, 2004: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
