Stating this here today, the national vice-president of the IMA, Dr Gursharan Singh, who is also the chairman of the disciplinary action committee of the Punjab Medical Council, said he had received a large number of complaints against some doctors who were alleged to be cheating people.

He said the IMA would use conciliatory approach in handling such cases. At the same time, the IMA had decided to launch an awareness campaign. Dr Gursharan Singh observed that the people should not get carried away with the advertisements. He advised that before approaching any doctor who promises miracles, the patients should cross check the claims themselves.
