Chandigarh, August 1
The breast feeding week began in the city today. While highlighting the importance of mother’s milk, doctors said mothers should be made aware of its benefits for the new-born baby.

“We tell mothers that the best gift that they can give to their child is their own milk. Though a few years ago mothers had doubts about feeding their babies but the trend is now changing and more and more women are breastfeeding their babies,’’ said Ms Rama Mahajan, a city-based dietician.

To solve the problem of the working mothers, doctors have advised them to either refrigerate or freeze the milk so that child could consume it when the mother is away. “This is necessary because the mother’s milk is the purest and makes the child immune to various diseases,’’ said another dietician Dr Jyotsna.

Indian team dismay cricket fans
Our Sports Reporter

Chandigarh, August 1
Cricket lovers of the city felt disappointed when the Indians surrendered before the host Sri Lanka in the Sunday’s final of the Asia Cup Cricket Tournament. They blamed the Indian batting line-up for the poor show.

Desh Prem Azad seemed totally disgusted with Indian’s batting performance. Azad said if India could not chase 229 runs and that too in pitches similar to India, how could we think of becoming the world champion when we are not able to achieve at Asia level. Indian side had seven world-class batsmen but the way they batted today had disturbed the cricket fraternity, he added.

Azad said in the past, India has always proved their mettle in Asia Cup and the Indian side was expected to win this time as well but they failed to perform.

Saurabh Arora was also depressed by the way Indians batted today. He asked why Anil Kumble was kept out of the team. We expected good bowling from Harbhajan Singh, but he too failed to perform. He was of the view that early dismissal of Sehwag and Saurav Ganguly had demoralised the other batsmen. Saurabh said Sri Lanka dominated in the entire Asia Cup series. He opined that Sri Lanka outplayed Indians in every department of the game.

Vikhyat, a student of Yadavindra Public School, Mohali, said when Rahul Dravid got out at 16 the complexion of the game changed. He said they also expected good showing from the local lad Yuvraj, but he also disheartened the fans.
