Rohan, Nusrat pedal to glory Chandigarh, August 15 About 70 students took part in the massed start events in senior, junior and subjunior categories. Ajay Trehan smoothly pedalled to win the final sprint in men mass start grinding ahead of all the riders in the bunch. In boys (under- 18) Manmohan Singh was relegated to the second place, when he rode dangerously in the group on the busy road. Nassem Khan, former cyclist and executive member, CACA, gave away the prizes to the winners. Free equipment will be provided by Kalvin Bikes which has agreed to adopt Chandigarh mountain bikers for national championships. |

Nadia, Dheeraj corner glory Chandigarh, August 15 The girls singles went in favour of Manisha of Patiala while the boys singles title was bagged by Rohit of Amritsar. Dheeraj combined well with Nadia to clinch the mixed doubles title. Results: (all finals): Girls:

NPS cagers back from USA Chandigarh, August 15 NPS boys also played a friendly match with Spurce Greek High school, Daytona, Florida which the former lost after giving a tough fight. Dr R.D. Singh said, an NRI couple, Dr Satinder and Ms Deep Kohli, arranged the camp and matches for the NPS boys. The boys also visited Disney World, NASA Institute and other places of interest. |

GMSSS-46 eves in soccer final Chandigarh, August 15 Both the teams could not score any goal in the stipulated hours and also in extra time. Later in the penalty shootout, sudden death rule was applied and finally GMSSS-46 emerged winners. Tomorrow the final will be played between GMSSS-46 and Sacred Heart at 4.45 pm. |
