8 killed in Himachal accident

Shimla, August 15
As many as eight persons were killed and seven injured when a utility vehicle fell into a nullah from the road bridge, near Hatkoti temple, this afternoon.

The ill-fated vehicle was on its way to Rohru and there were 15 persons on board when the mishap occurred. The deceased included three members of a family of Balokh village in Chirgaon. They were identified as Nehar Singh, his 11-year-old son, Kamlesh, and 65-year-old mother.

Three others were identified as Mohammed of Kupwara, and Rajiv and Rattan Chand of nearby villages. Two bodies were yet to be identified.

While six injured were admitted to hospital at Rohru, a seriously injured person was shifted to Indira Gandhi Medical College here.
