India
and the European Union, holding their sixth annual
summit here, today agreed to intensify their
cooperation in the fight against terrorism and
signed a “framework agreement” on Indian
participation in Galileo, though the signing of the
formal agreement had to be deferred because of
unresolved differences.

Ruling Congress MLAs today made it
clear to the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr
Shamsher Singh Dullo, that they were shabbily treated by officials
posted in various districts and their writ did not run in the state.

Disciplinary Committee, BJP President L K Advani today expelled senior
Delhi leader Madan Lal Khurana for six years for “gross indiscipline

An IAS officer was found carrying
Rs 21 lakh cash on a flight. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has slapped a
disproportionate assets case against the senior officer. The Income Tax
Department has already issued notices to G-Anantaramu, Commissioner of
Technical Education in the Government of Andhra Pradesh about the
unaccounted cash.
Hurriyat hopeful of early breakthrough in talks

Terming the meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as a “solid beginning,” leaders of All-Party Hurriyat Conference have said they were hopeful of an early breakthrough on Kashmir issue if the present style of working continued.
