Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24-hour change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Punjab and rose in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.9° C recorded at Patiala.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 3: Rain/snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers are likely at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places north Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 3: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundry development/ light rain in some areas. Fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 7° C.
