Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, rose in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: This was markedly below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.5°C at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 12: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 12: Cold wave conditions have abated in Delhi. Partly cloudy sky. Mist/fog in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 6°C.
