Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: This was markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.0C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of February 6, 2006: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
