US college honour for Dr Pratik Soni

The American College of Cardiology, USA has honoured Dr Pratik Soni, the chief interventional cardiologist of Patiala Heart Institute by confering on him its highest award of "Fellowship of American College of Cardiology", in recognition of his contribution to the field of cardiology in general and interventional cardiology in particular.

Dr Soni has performed more than 8000 angiographies and 1300 angioplasties, many of them with stent implantations. He has also given numerous talks on patient education, prevention of heart diseases and other related topics. 

Seminar on 'Materia Medica'

Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Sector 26, is organising a seminar on 'Materia Medica' tomorrow at the college premises.

Prof. S.K. Singh, Department of Urology, PGI will be the chief guest. Dr Ravinder Kochhar, Principal, Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana, will preside over the event.

The seminar will begin at 9 pm.

Lakhvir Kaur of BA-II went home with the 'best athlete' tag and stood first in the 100m, 200m and 400m race events during the annual athletics meet of Government College for Girls, Sector 42 here today.

Renu and Monika stood second and third respectively, in the same events.
