Sensex sheds 216 points

Mumbai, March 8
With FIIs and domestic funds offloading shares across the board, the Sensex took a battering today falling by more than 2 per cent or 216 points to close at 10,508.85 points.

This was the biggest fall in six months. The major losers in today's session was led by Tata Steel which fell by a whopping 5.1 per cent or Rs 24. HLL was another big loser shedding more than 4 per cent of its value to close at Rs 242. Others like Hindalco, HDFC, Maruti and Tata Motors also took a big fall. — TNS
