Jharkhand UPA leaders meet Kalam
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 28
A delegation of UPA MPs and MLAs from Jharkhand today urged President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to direct Governor Syed Sibte Razi not to accord assent to the Bill on the offices of profit that was recently passed amidst uproar by the Jharkhand Assembly.

The delegation met and submitted a memorandum to the President. They have said in the memorandum that “the Governor of Jharkhand may kindly be directed to look into the developments objectively and save democracy in the state.

The Governor should not accord assent to the Bill as it will create a wrong precedent and save the wrongdoers.”
