States told not to overdraw
power
New Delhi, May 6
Amid the worsening power situation in North India, the Power Ministry today warned states, including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi, against overdrawing power from the grid as it could result in collapse of the grid, that had been facing a power deficit of over 4000 MW.

Sex racket protesters teargassed
Srinagar, May 6
The police lobbed teargas shells and used batons to disperse students of Kashmir University and Regional Engineering College, protesting against the alleged police inaction against those involved in the sex racket here, as they tried to take out a procession in defiance of the prohibitory orders in force in the city, official sources said.
