New Delhi sizzles at 44.5°C

New Delhi, May 6
Delhi today witnessed the hottest day of the season so far with the maximum temperature rising up to 44.5°C.
The minimum also shot up to 23.8° from yesterday’s 21.3°C.

However, the Met Dept. ruled out the possibility of a heatwave gripping the national Capital despite Rajasthan and Punjab reeling under it.

Jaipur: Rajasthan is reeling under an intense heat wave with temperature touching 48°C in Ganganagar on Saturday. Five persons from different areas in the state are reported to have died over the past two days, succumbing to the rising heat.

Lucknow: Meanwhile, as mercury crossed 45°C in Uttar Pradesh, at least five heatwave-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours taking the toll to 19. — UNI
