Army withdrawn from Vadodara

Vadodara, May 8
The Army was tonight withdrawn from all riot-affected areas of the city when the troops marched out of remaining four localities ahead of schedule following improvement in the situation there.

The Army troops pulled out of Wadi, Panigate and Navpura at 8 pm. They had been withdrawn from Raopura and Karelibagh, the other riot-hit areas on Saturday morning.

The Police Commissioner said with no untoward incident being reported in the past four days, he decided to withdraw the Army from the city tonight. — PTI
