Delhi police searches Sahil’s residence

Srinagar, June 9
Two premises, including the house of Sahil Zaroo involved in the Rahul Mahajan drug case, were searched by a joint team of the Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir police here today, official sources said.

The house of Zaroo at Nigeen and his maternal uncle’s house at Shalimar were searched by the police team in the presence of Zaroo, who was brought here from Delhi for further investigation in the sensational drug abuse case this morning, the sources said.

Even as senior police officials maintained silence over the recoveries effected from the two premises on the disclosure of Zaroo, the sources said the clothes and socks worn by Zaroo during the late night party at Rahul’s Delhi residence were confiscated during the raids which began at noon.

“We are not supposed to speak as the searches are being conducted by the Delhi police and we are only providing assistance to them,” Srinagar Senior Superintendent of Police S.A. Mujtaba said when asked about the recoveries made during the raids.

The police first searched the residence of Zaroo and later raided the house of his uncle Mohammad Yousuf at Shalimar around 2 p.m., the sources said.

Although Zaroo, who was wearing a mask, was barred from speaking to the waiting media persons, he shouted “I am innocent and being falsely implicated in the case” when some media persons asked for his comments. — PTI
