9 chargesheeted in sex scandal
Srinagar, June 24
The CBI today filed its first chargesheet in the high-profile sex racket charging nine persons, including Deputy Inspector General of BSF K.C Pandhi, with rape. The first chargesheet comprising nearly 25 pages with annexures was filed before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mr M.Y Akhoon, in a jam packed court here.

Jet unlikely to fly to US; Dawood links questioned
New Delhi, June 24

In a major setback to the beleaguered aviation major Jet’s plans to fly to the United States, the US government’s Transport Department has asked the Indian government to “verify, investigate and comment on the airline’s alleged financial links with wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and also links with Al-Qaida”.

India gains access to Pentagon
Chandigarh, June 24
In the backdrop of increased military cooperation between India and the United States, the Indian defence establishment has now gained direct access to the Pentagon, which houses the American Department of Defence, for working out issues of mutual interest. Earlier interactions between the defence establishments of the two countries were through the United States Pacific Command. 

Two Mahajan aides questioned
New Delhi, June 24
Sudhanshu Mittal and Harish Sharma, key aides of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, were today questioned by the Delhi police in connection with the high-profile Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case. Sharma and Mittal, along with two domestic helps of Rahul, were questioned by a team of investigators at the Parliament Street police station here, their lawyer Ramesh Gupta said.
