Colombo, June 26 A suspected Tamil Tiger suicide bomber today rammed an explosive-laden motor cycle against the car of a top Sri Lankan army general, killing him along with three others on the outskirts of the capital, giving a further jolt to the faltering peace process. Octroi goes in Punjab from Sept 1; no new taxes to be levied
Chandigarh, June 26
The Punjab Council of Ministers today decided to abolish octroi in the state. The decision will be applicable from September 1 and no new taxes will be levied to compensate for the expected Rs 645 crore loss of revenue.

Notice to Salman for ‘misleading court’
Jodhpur, June 26
A local court today issued a notice to Bollywood actor Salman Khan for filing a false affidavit in connection with his gun licence in the illegal arms case. The prosecution filed an appeal in the court saying Salman lied to the court about his gun licence.
