Delegation meets HUDA Administrator

Panchkula, July 4
A delegation of a seven-member committee constituted by property dealers and locals yesterday met the Chief Administrator (CA) of HUDA, Mr SS Dhillon, and took up the matter of banning General Power of Attorney (GPA).

The delegation also informed the CA that the decision would not benefit the state government as people would prefer to purchase property in other states. They also took up the issue of revised increased collector rates of stamp duty from Rs 4,700 per sq metres to Rs 18,000 per sq metres. Mr Dhillon assured them that the issues would be settled shortly.

Meanwhile, Mr SK Nayar, president of the Panchkula Citizen’s Welfare Association, hailed the HUDA move for its decision on the GPA.

He claimed that the decision would stop a steep hike in the property prices besides putting a bridle on the HUDA plots being sold on a premium. Moreover, the common man would no longer be a victim of the underhand game played by the real-estate-dealers in the state.

He also pointed out this would help proper distribution of plots among seekers. Earlier people had been collecting scores of plots and then selling them at much higher prices.
