Training centre for banking, finance professionals

IT training company NIIT Ltd has decided to foray into other areas of the service economy through a new subsidiary, NIIT Institute of Finance Banking and Insurance Training Ltd.

The foray into training for financial services industry is a part of the new initiatives the company has planned for this fiscal.

Apart from rendering training in the areas of finance, banking and insurance, the newly incorporated entity will also provide technology-based learning services, by establishing centers for advanced learning in the area of Technology and Management.

It will also engage in proficiency assessment and recruitment testing services. — PTI

Master’s course in CADD

The Chennai-based Computer Aided Drafting and Designing (CADD) Centre, which has 163 training centres across the country, proposes to broadbase its network in Kerala by opening 15 more centres “to cater to the needs of desiring engineering and software students.”

“In addition to the 22 centres, we are planning to start another 15 to meet the requirements of students in 75 engineering colleges and polytechnics in the state,” Mathai Chackchen, National Manager, CADD Centre Group of Companies told newsmen Kozhikode.

Having established Direct Centres in Chennai, Bangalore and Pune,CADD was operating through franchisee in rest of the places, he said, adding CADD was also chosen for the 'Best IT Franchiser Award' last year.The 18-year-old company was also engaged in offering its services in Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh and Bahrain.

Besides several job-oriented courses, the Centre would now offer a Master’s Diploma course in mechanical, civil, electrical, architectural, interior architecture and design, colour graphics and multimedia in all its centres in the country, he said.

CADD’s about 3,500 Corporate customers included Reliance, Larson and Tubro, Mahindra and Mahindra and Ericcson.

Noting that over 3,00,000 executives had enjoyed the unique benefits of CADD Centre Training, he said the master diploma course’s duration would be for 480 hours, ranging from six months to one year, and cost Rs. 48,000. — PTI

New computer programme

The A-SET Training and Research Institute, New Delhi, has introduced a programme in hardware engineering called the chip component level course. According to Managing Director of the institute U.K. Vaish, training in hardware engineering can be imparted through the card-level and chip component-level methods.

During the 16-month course, all trainees will be given a chance to detect and rectify about 400 common and rare faults in a computer. — OC
