DMCH teams win quiz contests

The 10th PG quiz in neonatology and the first ever neonatology quiz for nurses under the aegis of the National Neonatology Forum, India, was held here recently in which teams from the DMCH swept the divisional rounds of the neonatology quiz both for PGs and as well as for nurses.

The teams participating in the PG quiz were- PGIMER, Chandigarh, GMC, Chandigarh, GMC, Amritsar, GMC, Patiala, CMC, Ludhiana and DMCH, Ludhiana.

Dr Harmesh Singh Bains conducted the quiz for postgraduates and Dr A.S. Chawla, President, Punjab State NNF, conducted the nursing quiz. The team from DMCH, Ludhiana, comprising Dr Sachin Mittal and Dr Harsh Sharma emerged, as winners in postgraduate quiz and the runners up was the team from CMC.

In the quiz for nurses, teams from PGIMER, Chandigarh, CMC Ludhiana, Mohan Dai Oswal Cancer Hospital, Ludhiana, GMC, Chandigarh and DMCH, Ludhiana participated. Ms Karamjit and Ms Kamaljit from DMCH were the winners. The runners up were PGIMER, Chandigarh. OC

Kapil Dev for nurturing young talent

Former Test cricketer and Indian captain, Kapil Dev, has called for ensuring that the young talent is properly nurtured. He was speaking at a function organised by the Sips Dance Academy at Guru Nanak Bhawan here last night, where he was the chief guest.

He said, there was a lot of talent in the country. He said, it could be utilised everywhere. In science and technology, arts and culture and sport as well. Kapil Dev said, there must not be lack of avenues of the talented people.

He also appreciated the work done by various non- governmental organisations for humanitarian values.
