Sarpanch suspended for embezzlement

The Deputy Commissioner, Ms Jaspreet Talwar, today suspended Harjit Singh, sarpanch of Chanarthal Khurd village, for allegedly non-disbursement of pensions for the past three months to its beneficiaries and sending false Actual Pay Reports in the office of the District Social Security.
