The Streets frontman Mike Skinner, is set to enter the Guinness World Records book for creating the longest-ever music video. The British rapper is teaming up with MTV to make the 20-minute promo to displace the record set by Michael Jackson’s 1983 hit Thriller. The video, which features footage shot by five MTV viewers, will be aired for the first time on August 1. "I have been blown away by the creativity and imaginations of the young people involved and we have watched hours of videos in order to find the most interesting and intriguing content for this epic work," BBC quoted Skinner as saying. "Although it’s our 25th birthday, it’s important to remember that we wouldn’t have lasted 25 minutes without great, creative music videos and our brilliant, open-minded viewers," an MTV spokesperson said. "So it makes sense to mark our birthday by giving viewers a chance to make their own, special music video," he added. The video is directed by
Alistair Siddons, who has made videos for the Mystery Jets, Kano, Roots
Manuva and The Streets. — ANI |
