Hamirpur, September 5
A trivial issue of cattle grazing led to the murder of five members of a family including two women and a teenaged boy, while four others were wounded grievously in the Jaria area of the district today.
The police said Ramratan and his son Premchand of Mankahri village — 85 km from the district headquarter — had objected to the entry of a neighbour’s cattle into their field for grazing.
When the issue snowballed, the duo shot dead Moolchand (35), his brother Parshuram (50), mother Lalita (75), Rajesh (15) and Anita (35), who died on way to the hospital. — UNI
