Ulta Pulta
Lively house

A few days back, powerful action scenes were seen on the Lok Sabha channel when RJD leaders and JD (U) leaders virtually came to blows. But I fail to understand why the esteemed Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and the media have condemned the incident. They obviously don’t understand that it is such incidents that make the legislature a lively place. At least the legislators who were in deep slumber were woken up by the skirmishes. Probably before going to sleep, they must have told their colleagues, "Bhaiya agar koi ladai vagera ho to zaroor jaga dena".

It is a known fact that the TRP ratings of the Lok Sabha channel are abysmally low. There have been many proposals to attract advertisers to make the channel financially viable. I too have some suggestions to make.

To make the fights more dramatic, we should hire the services of some filmi stunt directors. Every party should have the right to throw smoke bombs at their opponents with the permission of the Chair. That would keep Parliament rocking and vibrant.

Most of the members would not mind if there is an item number thrown in to spice up the proceedings. Chatterjee Sahib need not put this item number on record. To make the proceedings more colourful, Mr Chatterjee can also rope in Ekta Kapoor to make Kissa Kursi Ka with the ‘k’ factor.
