Mumbai, September 11
Investigators probing last Friday's bomb blasts in the town of Malegaon have found links between the blasts and the train blasts in Mumbai on July 11.
Forensic analysis conducted on the remnants of the explosive devices from the blast site show the presence of RDX, ammonium nitrate, and petroleum oil all of which were used in the Mumbai bombs. However top police officers refused to confirm the presence of RDX in the Malegaon blasts. While confirming that the explosives used in Malegaon were "similar to the ones used in Mumbai", Maharashtra Director-General of Police (DGP) P S Pasricha on Monday said investigators were probing some "solid leads". Meanwhile the Malegaon police released the sketches of a third suspect. Reports of more explosives being recovered in areas near Malegaon are coming in.
