When light is scattered everywhere, And happiness is in the air. Diyas and candles are placed on the walls, Idols of Goddess Durga are worshipped in the halls. Glowing colours conquer the sky, Rockets are ready to fly. Gifts are shared including rose, which acts as a dose of joy. The night of festival of lights is over, Life again turns slower. But that is left behind is only pollution, For this one has to find some solution. Let’s come together and fulfil our desire, Not to burn crackers but enmity in fire. Celebrate Divali and be gay, Make friends and keep pollution away. Surabhi Goyal, X-C, St Joseph’s Convent Senior School, Bathinda Happy Divali Divali comes and brings along joy, To each and every girl and boy It banishes all differences and fear, Everything we enjoy and share. It makes friends of foes, Happiness mingles from head to toes, So Happy Divali to everyone, With Divali the new festive season has just begun. Jasmine Sekhon, VI-C, Sacred Heart Convent Sr Secondary School Ludhiana Let me fly One unborn girl child’s cry From the womb she tries to fly Where she lies in protective shield Preparing and growing to visit green fields Stop intervening the nature’s law Stop dismembering me and Maa (mother) Don’t push me to the tomb I will bring you pride I will stand by your side Let me fly, Let me fly.
