DERA BASSI Quiz contest: Bhavneet and Ayushi of Deepmala Public School, Dera Bassi, and Nancy and Ashima Anand of Shastri Model School, Dera Bassi, won the junior and senior titles, respectively, in the district-level quiz competition. The competition was organised by the Bharat Vikas Parishad at Government Senior Secondary School, Mubarikpur, on Monday. Meeting held: A meeting of the New Generation Residents' Welfare Society, Zirakpur, representatives of the New Generation Real Estate Limited and administrative officials was held here recently. It was resolved at the meeting that the maintenance of the New Generation Apartments would be handed over either to an outside agency or New Generation Real Estate Limited. The maintenance would be governed by proper terms and conditions agreed upon by both parties, according to a press note. Jagraon: Car Damaged: An Indica car (PB-10AM-0617) was badly damaged in an accident with a tanker (PB-29A-9968) near Aligarh village today. No one was injured. The local police has registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 427 of the IPC against Harnek Singh of Kamalgarh on the complaint of Ajmer Singh of Rattowal. No arrest has been made so far. Fake sale deed: The Jagraon police has registered a case under Sections 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC against Rajdeep Singh, Avtar Singh of Sadarpura and Gurbax Singh of Malsihan Bhaike on the charge of forgery. The accused allegedly made a forged sale deed to sell the land of Satwant Kaur of Sadarpura and thereby, intended to cheat her. No arrest has been made so far. Lahan seized: The Sidhwan Bet police has registered a case under Sections 61, 1, 14 of Excise Act against Gurdeep Singh of Patti Multani. The ploice seized 200 kg of lahan from the premises where the accused carried his illegal activities but he managed to ran away from the spot. Wife held: The Raikot police has booked Surjit Kaur of Rashin on the complaint of Prem Chand, SDM Raikot, yesterday. According to information, the accused tried to get the benefit of government service allegedly by fabricating the death certificate of her husband Amar Singh who died sometime ago.
