Noida, December 30
Mohinder Singh Pandher, a factory owner from whose house 15 skulls were recovered yesterday, has emerged as the main suspect in the gruesome serial killing of several children by his servant after both of them had sexually abused them.
Pandher, whose wife and son live in Chandigarh, used to get callgirls regularly at his house in the Nithari area. “And when no call girls were to be found, Mohinder asked Satish to lure children. Satish would lure the kids and get them inside the house after which Mohinder would sexually abuse them,” SSP R.K.S. Rathore said.
Satish, father of a three-year-old child, would also sexually abuse the children at times. He would then kill the children by strangulating them after which the bodies would be hacked to pieces. The head and the other body parts were disposed of separately.
“They would dispose of the bodies at night, throwing the head and the body parts, placed in different bags, in the drain behind the house,” he said.
While the police is still digging out and sifting the front drain waste for sighting more skeletons and human parts of the kids savagely killed in Nithari village, recovery of 15 skeletons, including that of young woman Payal, have been confirmed. Nine skeletons of children have been identified while the skeletons of few more young women have also been sited.
“Had the police been a little more efficient and truthful, perhaps this tragedy could have been averted and at least some lives saved. Now our main concern should be how to provide solace and succor to the
parents and families who have lost their dear ones,” said Congress leader Salman Khurshid during his visit to the scene of the tragedy.
The two accused, who were presented before a judge at his residence in Sector-26 here, were sent in police custody for three days.
The police has booked Mohinder Singh and his servant Satish, alias Surinder, under Sections 302, 376, 201 and 120 of the IPC.
Meanwhile, five policemen, who had worked at the Sector 20 police station here over the past two years, were suspended for negligence in handling complaints of missing children.
The policemen suspended comprise two former SHOs, R.N. Singh and Deepak Chaturvedi, and three constables, who have been police post in-charge, namely K.P. Singh, Rajeev Walia and Vinod, Noida SP Soumitra Yadav said.
BJP MP and former Union Minister Ashok Pradhan said UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav should resign on moral grounds. “There is scare and terror among the people on such inhuman and heinous crime taking place on the periphery of Delhi.
This is the height of crime. The UP Government has failed miserably to stem crime,” Pradhan added.
Some media channels had also suggested that a doctor living next door might also be involved. But he is understood to be away to the US for the last fortnight or so.
There are 10 missing children which form the basis of police investigations.
Besides Payal (26), her friend Neelam and few more young women are also missing.
But according to villagers, 38 children, most of them minor or adolescent, have been missing since 2004. And their pleas to the police were falling on deaf ears because they were poor people without contacts, pulls etc, they lamented.
