Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region. Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. They were markedly below normal in Punjab, appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, above normal in east Rajasthan, and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2.2°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).
Forecast valid until the morning of January 7: Isolated rain/snow is likely at higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
