Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.
Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose appreciably in east Rajasthan, rose in Jammu and Kashmir, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.
Departure: The temperature was appreciably below normal in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was minus 0.6 C recorded at Adampur (Punjab).
Forecast valid until the morning of January 17: Rain/snow is likely at isolated places over higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places over north Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and north-west Uttar Pradesh during the next two nights.
Outlook for the subsequent two days: In view of approaching western disturbance, isolated rain/snow is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Cold wave conditions and frost conditions are likely to abate in the region.
Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 17: Mainly clear sky. Mist likely in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 05C.
