Appointed: Mr Sharanjeet Singh Dhillon (MP), President, All India Youth Akali Dal, has appointed the senior youth Akali leader of Samrala circle, Jathedar Jasmel Singh Bondli, as the General Secretary of the Youth Akali Dal, Punjab, on Tuesday keeping in view the services rendered by him. The decision has been welcomed by Mr Jagjiwan Singh Kheernian, General Secretary of the All India Youth Akali Dal. Circle President, Jathedar Kirpal Singh Kheernian, senior Akali leaders Jathedar Joginder Singh Seh, Jathedar Kartar Singh Mehdoodan, Prof Tehal Singh Dhande and Jathedar Giani Mohinder Singh Bhanglan have also hailed the appointment.

Condoled: Mr Harchand Singh (79), retired Tehsildar of Tapprian village presently residing in Canada, died due to a heart attack on Monday. The news came as a shock for the residents of his village. The services rendered by him at the time of consolidation in Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Amritsar districts are still appreciated by farmers in Punjab.
