Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures rose in Punjab and west Rajasthan but changed little elsewhere. Departure: Temperatures were appreciably below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Punjab, above normal in west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.3°C, recorded at Amritsar.
Forecast valid until the morning of January 20: Rain/snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Isolated rain/thundershowers are likely in Punjab, north Haryana, including Chandigarh, and west Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Weather will be mainly dry with fall in night temperatures. Fog is also likely in parts of Haryana and Punjab.
