Rhyme Time
Live to learn

Education, we students think

we get,

But we are not educated yet.

Education is the biggest tool,

For the achievement of which we go to school.

But with the advent of modernisation and urbanisation,

We have become literates who have lost the meaning of education.

Present-day education is theoretical,

Away from the practical world.

It has made us frogs of the well,

Where we rely more on theory.

Children give tests only,

Studying whole night, sitting alone.

I think education should be

interactive,

Making students practical and active.

Result is out

I was tense, worried and depressed,

Thinking about the result, which may or may not impress.

My heartbeat quickened when teacher called "Roll No. 29"

I wondered whether my marks would shine.

My eyes bulged, my body froze,

I was shocked to see my marksheet.

I cursed God, I cursed my fate,

My heart was full of hatred.

Thinking about my parents I cried,

They are the ones who expected so much from my side.

I thought, thought and thought.

I realised that hard work was there,

But sincerity was missing.

Effort was there, but real urge was missing.

So from here I took the lesson, not to repeat my mistake,

And become successful in life’s game.
