MP rescues its Prince after 12 hours
Katni (MP), February 5 Amit Kushwah, who fell into the borewell dug in the field of his uncle, was rescued in the wee hours by digging a parallel pit and connecting it to the bore through a tunnel. The dehydrated boy, who was administered mother’s feed, emerged out of the borewell with only a few bruises and scratches. Though no internal injuries were seen, he would be kept under medical observation at the district hospital for the next 72 hours. In the rescue operation, similar to that carried out last year for five-year-old Prince in Haryana, JCV machines of marble centres nearby and local experts were summoned. Though attempts were made to contact the Army, personnel with expertise of this nature were not immediately available. As a crowd gathered, a team of doctors and an ambulance were put on standby as oxygen was supplied to Amit, who was monitored through a close circuit camera. As the news spread, people from villages nearby thronged the spot, but were kept at a safe distance to prevent any harm to the boy. As villagers, including Amit’s parents, who were visiting his uncle when the incident took place, prayed for his life, the boy emerged unharmed and regained composure soon after his mother took him into her arms. — PTI |
