Docs
protest police inaction: Medical
services in Tohana town in this district were paralysed today due to a
strike by doctors against alleged police inaction in the case of
attempted kidnapping of a local doctor last week. Three armed
miscreants had tried to kidnap Dr Hardyal Bhatia from his
residence-cum-clinic at Tohana on night of January 30. The accused had
entered the clinic of the doctor as patients at midnight. The accused
had decamped with his car when they failed in their attempt to kidnap
him. Though over a week has elapsed since the incident, the police is
still to find any clue to the crime. — OC

BJP puts off rally to April 6: The
proposed BJP rally to highlight the failures of the four-year Congress
rule in the state will now be held on April 6 instead of March 6 to
coincide with the Sthapna Divas of the party. The state BJP chief, Mr
Jai Ram Thakur, today said that though the party had intended to hold
the rally on March 6, yet due to unavailability of the Ice Skating
Rink for holding the rally, it had been postponed. He said that the
highlights of the four-year Congress rule like corruption, price rise,
unemployment and patronising various mafias would be brought to the
notice of the government. — TNS
