Taking the vocal route
Smriti Sharma
Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, March 3
Her infamous (as she describes it) video of the remixed old song ‘Kaanta laga’ shot her to the limelight instantaneously, yet 23 year-old Shefali Zariwala does not want to be typecast as a performer only in remixed videos. So it is singing that is keeping her occupied these days.

Unlike both her cheeky videos ‘Kaanta laga’ and ‘Kabhi aar kabhi paar’, in her real life she impresses everyone with her demeanour. A computer engineer by profession, she is married to one of the singing duo of ‘Meet Brothers’, Harmeet.

In town to celebrate Holi with her fans in Funcity, she finally breaks the ice. “ I am the chosen one to record an album with YPR, a music label of T-series”.

Not spilling beans on this one, she says, “ The untitled album will have around eight solo songs and is due to be released this year”.

Enthusiastic about celebrating Holi in the city, she says, “Playing a wet Holi and dancing are the two things I love most”.

A word of caution here as she advises everyone to stay away from synthetic colours and use eco-friendly colours instead. As far as the peppy video of ‘Meet Brothers’ with Mika, ‘Ae bhai tune puppy kyu lee’ goes, she chooses a diplomatic stand and sticks to ‘the song is very perky’, and then, she signs off.
