Congress leader held in Beas

Amritsar, March 10
Amritsar district Congress president Sukhjinder Singh Lalli was arrested by the police for violation of the election code of conduct in the Beas assembly constituency this evening.

Confirming the arrest, a police official said the Congress leader violated the code of conduct by remaining in the constituency after campaigning ended last evening.

Lalli was later produced before a Judicial Magistrate, who released him on bail. — UNI
