The Tribune to launch Himachal Pradesh Edition on Thursday

For quite some time we have been receiving suggestions from our readers in Himachal Pradesh that The Tribune should come out with a daily Edition of the paper for the State.

To meet this long-felt need of the people, The Tribune has decided to launch a daily edition for Himachal Pradesh.

The Himachal Plus weekly pullout, which The Tribune launched last year, will continue as a part of The Tribune's desire to serve the readers better.

The expanding network of correspondents The Tribune has developed during the last few years will enable the newspaper not only to report on the latest political developments in the State, but also to share the people's hopes and joys and even sorrows.

It will particularly focus attention on the problems the people face at the point where they come into contact with local authorities. Areas like education, healthcare, jobs, housing, environment and governance will receive special attention.

The Tribune will continue to give news from the rest of the country and comments by its eminent columnists on national and international developments.

The Tribune has a special bond with Himachal Pradesh. We are sure the new edition will further strengthen this readership.

The inaugural function will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Shimla. The Chief Minister of the State, Mr Virbhadra Singh, will be the Chief Guest at the launch. H.K. Dua Editor-in-Chief
