Two get life term for murder

Faridabad, March 12
The Additional District and Sessions Judge today sentenced two persons to life term and another to three months’ imprisonment in connection with the murder of a taxi driver in 2002.

The victim was the driver of a jeep, which was hired by the accused to go to U.P. The guilty, Devender Sharma, and his gang used to kill taxi drivers after hiring them. The police believes the gang was involved in at least 20 such murders at various places, including Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Delhi, Ghaziabad and Bulandsahar, in the past six years.

Several other cases were pending against the main accused who was brought on production warrant from Aligarh where he was in judicial custody.
