Budget session deferred

New Delhi, March 13
The second phase of Budget session of Parliament would start from April 26, instead of April 18, in view of the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Parliamentary affairs minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi said today that several political parties had made requests for rescheduling the session in view of UP polls. He said that the days lost due to curtailment of the session could be added to the monsoon session. The minister said the government business, including passing of the finance Bill, would be completed in the scheduled time. The first phase of Budget session would end on March 21.The Parliament would meet after recess on April 26. — TNS
