Rainfall: Rain/snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/ thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan, at many places in Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in east Rajasthan.

The chief amount of precipitation in cm. are: Haryana: Jind 7, Hissar 4, Ayanagar, Karnal, New Delhi (Safdarjung) and Nilokhari 3 each, Ambala, Chandigarh, Chhachhrauli, Delhi Ridge, Jagadhari, Kalka and New Delhi (Palam) 2 each, Himachal Pradesh: Ghamroor 7, Berthin, Nadaun and Shimla 4 each, Buntar, Guler, Sundernagar, Sunibhaji and Sujanpurtira 3 each, Kahu, Kasol, Nagrotasurin and Rampur Bushahar 2 each, and Pandoh 1; Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 26, Jammu 15, Banihal and Pahalgam 12 each, Quazigund 11, Batote 10, Srinagar 9, Bhaderwah 6 and Kupwara 4; Punjab: Halwara 8, Nangal 4, Amritsar, Adampur, Balachour and moga 3 each, Nawashahar 2 and Ludhiana and Patiala 1 each; east Rajasthan: Ajmer and Jaipur 1 each; west Rajasthan: Bikaner 2 and Churu 1; east Uttar Pradesh: Ballia, Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Varnasi A.P. 1 each; west Uttar Pradesh; Hindon 3 and Sarsawa 2; Uttaranchal: Tehri 5, Mukteshwar 4 and Dehradun and Pantnagar 2 each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: The maximum temperatures fell largely in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell markedly in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, fell appreciably in Uttar Pradesh and fell in the rest of the region. Departure: They were largely below normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 34.4C recorded at Jhalawar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: The minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 10.2C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 15th March 2007: Rain/snow will occur at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during next 24 hours and at isolated places threre after. Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry after 24 hours. Isolated Hail storm/thunder squalls are likely in Haryana including Chandigarh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain/snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 24 hours.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Mainly dry weather.
