2 booked for assault: Harbans Singh alias Bhola and Surinder Singh alias Shinda of Mukanpur allegedly assaulted Nachhattar Singh of the same village with sticks. The injured was admitted to the Civil Hospital Dehlon. A case under sections 324, 34 of the IPC has been registered by the police. Sudden quarrel is said to be the reason behind the incident. No arrests have been made so far.

HELD FOR GRAFT: The local Vigilance has arrested a section officer of the Rajpura municipal council Pardeep Kumar on the charges of corruption. He had allegedly absconded during a vigilance raid a few days ago with a bribe money of Rs 15,000.

Girdavri ordered: Administration has ordered a special girdavri to assess damage due to hailstorm and fiery winds. Sources said the rain damaged crops in 16 surrounding villages. Baldev Singh SDM told the media that the special girdavri orders have been placed and according the recommendations the affected people will be duly compensated.
