New Delhi, March 15
Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi is finally stepping out of the ‘purdah’.
He will come to the Congress headquarters for the first time tomorrow to participate in a meeting of the publicity material and advertisement committee, constituted for the Uttar Pradesh elections.
He will also be taking off on a four-day roadshow in Meerut and Bareily areas from March 18.
He has held brainstorming sessions with state party leaders, seven zonal heads and workers to draw up a list of candidates.
Having emerged as key strategist for the UP poll, Rahul has also been in constant touch with the Jan Morcha’s Raj Babbar and has sat in meetings with RLD leader Ajit Singh.
The Congress and its potential allies, the Jan Morcha and the RLD, have not completely given up on sealing an electoral pact.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi told mediapersons today that talks on alliances were continuing.
