Kisan Mela set for grand opening today

The annual Kisan Mela organised by Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set for a grand opening here tomorrow. The Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Virender Kumar Jain, would inaugurate the mela.
Surprise checks put arts colleges under scanner

Surprise inspections initiated by Panjab University vice chancellor R C Sobti with the inspection of education colleges will now focus on arts colleges in the region, says Prof Prithipal Singh Kapoor, former pro-vice chancellor of the Guru Nanak Dev University and a syndic of the PU.

Model Town Extension here today. In a short but attractive function kids

University called upon leaders of various social and educational
organisations to impress upon residents of their area to give top
priority to education of their wards. The call came at the annual
convocation and prize distribution function of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa
College for Women Kamalpura in Ludhiana district on Thursday.

signs MoU for AIDS project
Ludhiana March 16
Punjab Agricultural University has
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Claflin University,
Orangeburg, USA, for an USAID funded project, "Culturally-Sensitive
HIV/AIDS Reduction, Intervention, Training Project in India". The
budget estimate is Rs.5,03,800 initially for the year 2006-2007 but
extendable for the next three years.
