The maximum temperatures rose in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere.They were largely above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and appreciably above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.2°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).
Minimum: The minimum temperatures changed little. They were markedly above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and above normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 17.0°C recorded at Narnaul (Haryana).
