Shimla, April 5
The last day of the budget session of the Vidhan Sabha concluded here today with a bonanza for legislators whose allowances were hiked by Rs 7,500 per month.
The relevant state legislative assembly (allowances and pension of members) bill was introduced and passed without any discussion.
While the constituency allowance has been increased from Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000 per month, the electricity allowance has gone up from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per month. The office expenses have been increased to Rs 5,000 from Rs 4,000 per month.
For the first time a driver allowance of Rs 4,000 per month had been introduced.
